Our environment is important to us
Over the past 20 years, Altatec has grown significantly as the legal manufacturer of Camlog products and has also developed into an internationally significant company. Sustainability has had a very large influence on this, to which Altatec committed itself very early on. Numerous measures to reduce CO₂ emissions have already been implemented.
Bei der ALTATEC GmbH steht die nachhaltige Produktion bereits seit Jahren ganz oben auf der Agenda. Beim ersten Umweltaudit hat das Unternehmen auf Anhieb die hohen Erwartungen erfüllt und ist seit März 2019 mit den beiden Standorten in Wimsheim und Tübingen nach ISO 14001 zertifiziert. Zusätzlich wurde die Altatec nach EMAS (Eco-Management Audit Scheme) validiert, welche als Premium-Standard unter den europäischen Umweltmanagementsystemen gesehen wird.

At ALTATEC GmbH, sustainable production has been a top priority for years. During the first environmental audit, the company immediately met the high expectations and has been ISO 14001 certified since March 2019. Additionally, Altatec has been validated according to EMAS (Eco-Management Audit Scheme), which is considered the premium standard among European environmental management systems.
As a legal manufacturer, we are exemplary and contribute significantly to sustainable production, even exceeding legal requirements.
Some measures may not be visible, but they still make a substantial impact . For example, we use 100% green electricity, employ heat recovery converters, have replaced conventional lamps with LED lamps in production, and and we select our suppliers based on ecological, economic, and social aspects.
Auch der Erweiterungsbau sowie die Neugestaltung unserer Flächen werden hinsichtlich der Nachhaltigkeit geplant. In unserer jährlichen Umwelterklärung veröffentlichen wir unter anderem unsere Maßnahmen zur Nachhaltigkeit sowie die geplanten Aktivitäten.
Sustainable construction is also evident in the extension building
Our new extension building received the Gold Certificate from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) in July 2024. The DGNB certification system is considered the most advanced worldwide and is recognized as an international benchmark for sustainability. Read more.

It is also important to us that our employees feel comfortable and safe in their workplace. We therefore involved them in the construction project at an early stage and took their wishes into account during the planning phase. This allows us to set the right course right from the start and promote future viability in every respect.”
Protecting biological diversity
Biodiversity, or biological diversity, is vital for human survival and contributes to a high quality of life. We are committed to protecting habitats and maintaining species diversity. In designing our outdoor areas, we focus on:
- A variety of species in roof greening
- Planting native shrubs and trees during new plantings
- Sowing a butterfly and wild bee strip, also for the renaturation of the animal population
- Actively restoring natural watercourses from gravel streams on meadow mixtures
- Insect- and animal-friendly maintenance of green areas
